STEAM Lab Code of Conduct for Phones
Ralston Intermediate is a No Phone Zone, if a teacher sees your phone they are supposed to take it away and give it to the office. Your parent may get it back by going to the office.
The STEAM Lab curriculum has lessons which use phones, so the rules will differ from the rest of the school when phones are needed in a lesson. If rules aren’t followed or the school steps in, phone privileges can be revoked from the STEAM Lab.
No phones should be seen nor heard during instructional time, unless given permission.
Airpods and headphones will not be worn without permission and never during discussions or group work.
Always respect the privacy of others. Refrain from taking photos, videos, or recordings of classmates, teachers, or staff without their permission.
No Bullying or Harassment: Do not use your phone to bully, harass, or spread rumors about others. Report any inappropriate behavior to a teacher or staff member.
Appropriate Content: Only access and share content that is appropriate for a school environment. Avoid accessing or distributing inappropriate, violent, or offensive materials.
In App Creators: Do not use program to bypass school firewalls.
Consequences:
If any of these rules are broken by a student, their entire class loses phone privileges for a week. If a lesson is scheduled that requires a phone during that time, it will be skipped.
If a student uses their phone at the wrong time a second time, a parent conference will be scheduled.
If a student uses their phone to harass, bully, or access inappropriate content they will get an office referral.
